FANUC Commissioning

Patrion’s field engineering team provides specialized FANUC commissioning services that combine hands-on shop-floor experience with proven engineering procedures. The scope covers pre-commissioning checks, I/O checkout and signal verification, loop testing and validation, motion-axis tuning, tool centre point (TCP) and payload calibration, and full functional and integrated system testing. Engineers are proficient on R‑30iB Plus controllers, CRX collaborative robots and ROBOGUIDE offline simulation, and they execute FAT/SAT protocols that map directly to customer acceptance criteria. Technical activities include point‑to‑point I/O verification, continuity and polarity checks, delta and absolute encoder validation, motor/servo loop tuning, axis backlash and homing validation, and PID loop verification where PLCs are involved. Patrion integrates FANUC robots with Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix, Siemens S7 and other PLC platforms using EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP and OPC UA. The team uses FANUC FOCAS for data extraction, ROBOGUIDE for virtual commissioning and KAREL/TP debugging for teach pendant logic corrections. HMI integration work commonly references Rockwell FactoryTalk and Siemens WinCC tag mapping and screen acceptance tests. Safety and standards compliance are central to commissioning. Patrion validates safety circuits, emergency stop chains, interlocks and safety light curtains per ISO 10218 and IEC 61511 practices for safety instrumented systems. Safety PLCs and safety-rated communication (CIP Safety over EtherNet/IP) are tested with documented pass/fail criteria and MTTFd/SIL considerations discussed with plant safety teams. Software and PLC code reviews are performed against IEC 61131‑3 structured programming guidelines and ISA‑95 integration expectations for MES/ERP handoffs. Deliverables include detailed I/O checklists, loop test reports, FAT/SAT evidence packs, as‑built wiring and network topology diagrams, ROBOGUIDE simulation backups, corrected KAREL/TP code snapshots and commissioning certificates. Tools used on site include calibrated multimeters, oscilloscopes, power quality analyzers, encoder testers and data loggers. Patrion also provides remote commissioning and troubleshooting via secured VPN, enabling firmware updates, parameter adjustments and remote FOCAS-driven diagnostics to reduce downtime. Post‑commissioning services include operator training, preventive maintenance plans and a warranty period where Patrion engineers remain available for parameter tuning and production ramp support.
